patch on its way. Yeah, getting video on top can be a bit fiddly but it’s much easier in M4L than in max. If you have a dig into the patches you’ll see what’s going on :)

Hi, could you please email me this patch as well? (http://zealousy.com/2009/11/new-live-show-midi-video/). I am trying to do sort of the same thing as you for live performance. I am having trouble figuring out how to get the screen playing on top of ableton while max for live is running. May be because I have only done a few of the jitter tutorials so far. Thanks

It isn’t too tough to put something like this together. i’m still learning by just going through the tutorials. also, you can copy and paste from the help examples which speeds things up. i’m definitely noticing some sluggishness at the moment but a lot of that’s probably my own fault running videos at too fast of a rate at too high of a resolution. i’m on a nonpro macbook and it’s not gonna be happy doing HD or anything. still, pretty sure i’ll be able to optimize everything and get it running pretty smoothly.

i was using modul8 too. i think that does run faster than max but the advantage of this is visuals are loaded up with the song. if you go the max route hit me up and i’ll send you the patch.

Hi.
I’ve been looking for this for months and now max4live makes it possible!

I use modul8 through MIDI in the same laptop so the band’s visuals are synchronized with the samples in live, but I’d like to make it easier to set up.

Before I get the max4live license, I need to ask: How tough is to get these results? and … I notice some latency in the clips in your video, can it be mitigated somehow?
Don’t need any effects just trigger the video clips in the session view.

it’s pretty simple but i’ll email it to you to have a play. it’s certainly convenient doing visuals in live but it bogs down pretty quickly since live is resource hungry as it is. It will do HD but your computer would have to be up for it. if your on mac modul8 runs a lot faster than max/msp.

Cool Max app! Is it obvious how to make it or can you post it so I can play? I have been using Grand VJ but would much rather do this within Live.

Does it handle any kind of video? HD? ,-)
